Frequently Asked Questions

What is recruitment process outsourcing, and how is it different from placing a remote professional?

They are two different services and the distinction matters. Placing a remote professional means WorldTeams presents pre-screened candidates from our own talent pool, and the person works remotely on your projects. Recruitment process outsourcing means a recruiter works on your hiring, for roles you are filling yourself, including local hires in your own market. In that arrangement they run sourcing, screening, scheduling and pipeline management as an extension of your team. The person hired at the end is hired by you, on your terms, into your organization. Firms use the second when they are hiring more than their internal capacity can handle, or when they have no internal recruiter at all. Tell us which of the two you actually need. The answer changes the engagement, the pricing and who is doing what, so it is not a detail to leave vague.

Ask AI

Which parts of hiring can be delegated, and which cannot?

Delegate the volume work. Keep the judgment and the decision. A recruiter can write and post the job, then source candidates actively rather than waiting for applications. They can run first-round screening against agreed criteria and coordinate interview scheduling across busy calendars. They can manage the pipeline, run reference checks, and keep every candidate informed. What stays with you is the definition of the role, the evaluation of fit, the interview decisions, the offer, and everything that follows it. Your firm also carries the legal obligations of an employer, and those do not transfer to anyone under any arrangement. Equal employment law is the clearest example. The EEOC publishes what employers are responsible for. Delegating a step in the process does not delegate that responsibility, and no provider can take it on.

Ask AI

Who makes the hiring decision?

You do, always, and any provider who blurs this is worth avoiding. A recruiter's job is to put the right small number of people in front of you. And to make the process fast enough that good candidates do not disappear while you are deciding. They do not select for you. What they can and should do is challenge the brief, because a role defined as a wish list rarely produces a hire. Expect a good recruiter to ask which requirements are genuine and which are habit, and what the role looks like after twelve months. The screening criteria are agreed in writing before sourcing starts, so rejections are explainable rather than a matter of taste. That written criteria set is also what keeps the process defensible if anyone ever asks.

Ask AI

Does this work for hiring in the U.S. as well as hiring remotely?

Yes, and the process is the same while the market is not. Sourcing for a U.S. role means U.S. job boards and U.S. salary expectations. It also means local market knowledge, and candidates your firm will employ under U.S. law. Sourcing for a remote role widens the pool and changes the compensation and engagement structure entirely. A recruiter can run either. The useful conversation happens before the search starts: which roles genuinely require someone local, and which have only been assumed to. Firms often find that some of their open roles do not need to be local at all. That changes a hiring plan more than any sourcing technique does. We are happy to have that conversation even when the honest answer means a smaller engagement for us. The alternative is a search that should never have started.

Ask AI

How is a recruiting engagement measured?

By the numbers you agree at the start, and they should be about the process rather than promises about outcomes. The useful ones are time from brief to first shortlist, and the number of qualified candidates presented per role. Then the ratio of candidates presented to candidates interviewed, the offer acceptance rate, and how long the process takes end to end. Retention after six and twelve months is the honest measure of quality, and it is worth tracking even though the causes are shared. We will not quote you a time to fill before seeing the role, and neither should anyone else. A senior technical role in a tight market and a junior operations role are not the same search. Any single number that covers both is marketing rather than a forecast.
