The Challenge

For most of its first decade, Mancusi Design ran on Nick’s shoulders. As an integrated architecture, construction, and design firm (custom residential first, with a growing light commercial arm), the practice needed drafting, estimating, marketing, admin, and operations to run at the same time. In a small team, that meant one person carrying most of it.

Challenge #1: A founder doing everything, and losing time to grow

Between drafting, chasing estimates for new jobs, running marketing, and handling admin, Nick was locked into 12-hour days, with the strategic work that would actually grow the business always at the bottom of the list. The wheels were turning, but there was no bandwidth to steer.

Challenge #2: Growth ambitions with no room to plan them

Mancusi wanted to expand: into more light commercial work, into new systems, and eventually into development, where the firm could design, build, and develop its own projects. But every ambition needed time and headspace Nick didn’t have.

Before WorldTeams, my life was chaotic: super stressed, super overwhelmed, super bogged down in the weeds and the details of everything that happens in business.

The Solution

1

Start with drafting, then layer in the rest

The partnership began in 2024 with Juan joining as a drafter, the first WorldTeams hire and the most immediate bottleneck to relieve. As trust built, support expanded into marketing (including the firm’s work with a local arts organization), estimating, and administrative coverage: a growing support team spanning multiple WorldTeams professionals working across the account.

Result: A remote support layer that grew with the business, one role at a time, instead of one big commitment upfront.

2

One remote team, multiple functions

Rather than piecing together separate vendors for drafting, marketing, admin, and estimating, Mancusi consolidated the support layer inside WorldTeams. Different specialists, one partner, one point of accountability.

Result: Nick stopped context-switching between vendors and started delegating whole functions, not just tasks.

3

Free the founder to focus on growth

With drafting handled, marketing running, and admin covered, Nick could finally step out of the weeds and back into the parts of the business only he could do: new project pursuit, business systems, and strategy for the firm’s next chapter.

I can work less than 10 hours a day now, whereas before I was putting in 12-hour days every day easily. Now there’s a team behind me allowing me to get all these things done so I can focus on one or two things that are really important.

From Chaos to Growth-Ready

Before WorldTeams, growth was theoretical: every new ambition ran into the same wall of “no time.” After WorldTeams, Mancusi Design tripled its social media exposure, implemented systems Nick had been thinking about for years, took on more projects, and started planning a move into full development, designing, building, and developing its own projects, not just executing for others.

The firm didn’t just gain hours back. It gained the room to become a different kind of practice.

We want to take the next step and get into the development end of things. That’s something I can totally see being done with WorldTeams: you have the resources and the skill set that’ll allow us to be able to get to that next level, that I wouldn’t be able to do alone.

12 Years In, a Second Chapter

Mancusi Design spent its first decade proving what an integrated architecture, construction, and design firm can do with a founder wearing every hat. WorldTeams gave it a second chapter: one where Nick wears the strategic hats, and a multi-role remote team wears the rest.

Custom residential is still the heart of the practice, but with drafting, marketing, estimating, and admin all supported remotely, the firm has the bandwidth to grow into commercial and, next, into full development. For a founder who was locked into 12-hour days two years ago, that’s not just growth. That’s a different life.
